Head of Strategy & Architecture

About the role

Senior leadership position within V/Line’s Technology Team, responsible for shaping and executing the long‑term technology vision and strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive V/Line’s technology architecture and strategic roadmap.
• Align technology infrastructure with business goals and guide adoption of emerging technologies.
• Collaborate with executives and business leaders to create agile, innovative solutions.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives and mentor a team of architects.
• Ensure the architecture supports sustainable growth and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• 10+ years in senior IT leadership roles focused on architecture and strategy.
• Deep understanding of government enterprise operations and finance.
• Proven experience in enterprise architecture, digital transformation and strategic technology planning.
• Extensive knowledge of cloud computing, data management, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.
• Strong leadership, communication and team‑building skills.
• Familiarity with governance frameworks such as TOGAF (highly desirable).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field (highly desirable).
