Head of Security for Asia South, JANA Clusters

About the role

The role is a C15 Director position responsible for physical security and safety services across fifteen Asia‑Pacific markets. Based in Sydney, the incumbent will lead security strategy, risk management and incident response for the Asia South and JANA clusters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full security lifecycle – planning, policy, implementation and oversight – across fifteen markets and manage nine direct reports.
• Maintain expert situational awareness of geopolitical risks, brief senior leadership and ensure intelligence‑sharing compliance.
• Develop, implement and audit protective security standards in line with Citi global policy and local regulations.
• Review and approve risk assessments for all APAC offices, devise market‑specific mitigation strategies.
• Direct incident response, crisis management and emergency preparedness, reporting through GSMS.
• Build relationships with senior Citi leaders, law enforcement, intelligence agencies and government bodies across the region.
• Oversee security systems, budget, vendor selection and contract management for both clusters.

Required profile

• 15+ years progressive security management experience, including 5+ years in senior multi‑geography leadership.
• Degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Risk Management, International Relations or equivalent; professional certification (CPP/PSP) is an advantage.
• Deep knowledge of geopolitics in China, Korea, Japan, Australia and South Asian markets.
• Prior experience working in Hong Kong and/or mainland China is strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel at short notice and be available 24x7 for critical incidents.
