Head of Procurement – Sydney

About the role

InvoCare is seeking a strategic leader to head its procurement function across funeral, cemetery and memorialisation services. Based in Sydney, this full‑time, on‑site role will shape sourcing strategy, ensure cost‑effective purchasing and uphold the highest standards of supplier governance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute end‑to‑end procurement strategy aligned with organisational goals.
• Manage supplier relationships, conduct evaluations and negotiate commercial contracts.
• Oversee purchasing processes, category management and strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Monitor compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Collaborate with finance, operations and senior leadership to forecast demand, manage budgets and mitigate supply risks.
• Lead, mentor and develop the procurement team, promoting ethical sourcing and sustainability.
• Drive continuous improvement of procurement standards, systems and governance.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience managing procurement teams and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, financial and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills at senior levels.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in supply chain, business, commerce or related discipline.
• Experience in service‑based or multi‑site organisations; regulated sector exposure is a plus.
• Commitment to ethical sourcing, risk management and continuous improvement.
