Head of Pastoral Care (Primary)

About the role

The Head of Pastoral Care (Primary) oversees pastoral care, behaviour management and student wellbeing across the Primary school, contributes to whole-school leadership and brings a teaching component to the role. The position is full-time, commencing January 2027, in Kadina, South Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee pastoral care, behaviour management and student wellbeing across the Primary school
• Guide students in behavioural and disciplinary matters based on Christian principles consistent with the College's ethos
• Develop and implement policies relating to student behaviour management
• Work as part of a leadership team, fostering support and cooperation
• Handle sensitive issues with sound judgement and confidentiality
• Teach and maintain a close relationship with the student body
• Contribute to whole-school leadership, shape culture and support teaching teams
• Build strong relationships with students, staff and parents

• Mature and relational Christian leader with a vibrant, growing faith
• Active commitment to a local church congregation
• Dedicated to Christian education and committed to seeing young people flourish academically, socially and spiritually

Required skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage students, staff and parents
• Excellent organisational ability and sound decision-making
