Head of Mathematics

About the role

The Narre Warren South campus of Waverley Christian College, a Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12, is seeking a Head of Mathematics to lead and develop its Mathematics department from January 2027. The role is full time and combines your own classroom teaching with leading curriculum, assessment and pedagogy development, while supporting teachers and building a collaborative department.

Key responsibilities

• Teach mathematics in your own classroom.
• Lead the ongoing development of the Mathematics curriculum, assessment and pedagogy.
• Support teachers in their practice and foster a collaborative department culture where colleagues share practice and learn from each other.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
• Qualified and experienced in teaching Mathematics, including VCE Maths Methods and Specialist Maths.
• Strong curriculum knowledge and a commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
• Genuine interest in leadership and the capacity to support, encourage and develop others.
• High-level communication and interpersonal skills, able to build positive professional relationships.
• Commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
• Willingness to get involved in all aspects of the College's programs and opportunities.
