About the role
The Head of Health and Safety reports to the Executive Director, Health, Safety and Risk and leads a specialist function delivering strategic health and safety outcomes across RMIT.
Key responsibilities
- Manage complex health and safety consultancies covering legislation and risk, including psychosocial, biological and radiation safety.
- Lead key projects, legislative change responses, and develop innovative health and safety strategies, policies and programs.
- Develop and deliver training packages, information sessions and regular performance reporting.
Required profile
- Strong knowledge of OHS legislation and safety management systems.
- Proven leadership experience building capable, engaged teams.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Experience delivering health and safety consultancy in large, diverse organisations, preferably with public sector or tertiary education exposure.
