Head of Finance – SaaS Company

About the role

The Head of Finance will report directly to the CEO and lead a small finance team covering accounting, payroll, and accounts payable/receivable. This hands‑on leader will ensure day‑to‑day finance fundamentals run smoothly while shaping strategic financial support for the business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a finance team across accounting, payroll and AP/AR.
• Own financial reporting, consolidation, audit, global tax, compliance and balance‑sheet accuracy.
• Manage cash flow, banking, treasury and inter‑company accounting for global operations.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis to inform business decisions.
• Oversee payroll and the financial side of people systems.
• Develop and report on key SaaS metrics and business performance indicators.
• Identify and remediate inefficiencies, risks and weaknesses in finance processes.
• Collaborate directly with the CEO and senior leaders on financial strategy.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant with experience in demanding finance environments.
• Big‑4 training or equivalent experience in audit, deals, valuations or CFO advisory is highly regarded.
• Strong technical accounting foundation combined with commercial analysis capability.
• Comfortable navigating both detailed operational issues and high‑level strategic questions.
