Head of Finance

About the role

A global medical company that supplies products and services for the care of chronically ill patients is looking for a commercially astute Head of Finance to join its senior leadership team. The role covers the financial performance, governance and commercial stewardship of the business, which operates across Australia and New Zealand, and works closely with the Managing Director and the leadership team to support strategic planning, investment decisions and sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Support strategic planning and commercial decision making with the Managing Director and leadership team.
• Provide financial analysis and advice on opportunities, investments, risks and operational performance.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the Australia and New Zealand businesses.
• Monitor financial performance against targets and report regularly to senior leadership.
• Work with business leaders on cost management and working capital, including receivables, inventory and supplier payments.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting to local, regional and group stakeholders.
• Maintain financial controls, governance frameworks and administrative processes.
• Oversee statutory reporting, compliance with accounting, taxation and regulatory obligations, and manage relationships with external auditors.
• Oversee corporate taxation (GST, FBT, income tax) and treasury, cash flow and financial risk management.
• Lead, direct and develop the Finance team.

Required profile

• Extensive senior finance experience leading a finance function in a large, commercially focused organisation.
• Experience in a complex, scaled business, ideally with significant annual revenue.
• Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, commerce or a related field, with CPA, CA or equivalent accreditation.
• Experience with Australian and ideally New Zealand taxation and financial reporting, and US GAAP knowledge.
• Proactive, solutions-oriented, able to move between strategy and operations, and comfortable with senior executives.

• Enterprise-level ERP platforms such as SAP.
• Microsoft Office suite.
