Head of Division – Boarding Leadership

About the role

Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview is seeking an experienced and compassionate leader to serve as Head of Division within its boarding community. Reporting to the Director of Boarding, you will provide pastoral and operational oversight for one of the six boarding year‑groups, ensuring a safe, supportive and values‑driven environment for boarders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day‑to‑day pastoral care and in‑loco‑parentis responsibilities for a designated boarding division.
• Coordinate a 0.5 FTE teaching load and contribute to classroom learning aligned with Ignatian values.
• Supervise and mentor boarding staff, including Boarding Supervisors.
• Develop and implement social, co‑curricular and wellbeing programmes for boarders.
• Maintain strong communication with families, responding promptly to enquiries.
• Ensure compliance with child‑safety legislation and ABSA Duty of Care standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years experience in residential care or boarding leadership.
• Commitment to Catholic education in the Jesuit tradition.
• Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive, positive boarding culture.
• Strong understanding of adolescent development and behaviour management.
• Willingness to undertake ABSA Duty of Care training if not already completed.
