Hardware Technician

About the role

Join Compass to support and maintain in‑house technology equipment and IT assets. You will install, configure, diagnose, repair and upgrade hardware, ensuring smooth operation for the growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain procedures for logging and reporting hardware performance, documenting failures, repairs, installations and removals.
• Install, configure, test, maintain and troubleshoot end‑user workstations, networked peripherals and networking hardware.
• Diagnose and resolve complex PC problems on‑site, arrange off‑site repair when needed, and respond to hardware Jira tickets.
• Train and support staff on computer operation, build and test customised configurations across platforms and operating systems.
• Build and maintain an inventory of monitors, keyboards, hard drives, modems, printers, scanners and other peripherals, and report on performance statistics.

Required profile

• 2+ years hands‑on experience installing, configuring, diagnosing and repairing PC hardware and peripherals.
• Working knowledge of networking hardware and workstation operating systems.
• Experience resolving hardware issues through a ticketing system such as Jira.
• Clear communication skills and comfort training non‑technical staff.
• Organised approach to documentation, inventory and reporting.
