Handyperson – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

AccorHotel’s Ibis Sydney Airport is seeking a reliable Handyperson to join its maintenance team. You will ensure guest rooms and public areas remain functional, safe, and presentable, supporting the hotel’s commitment to guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily checks and minor repairs in guest rooms and public spaces, such as fixing leaking taps, door hardware, light fittings, silicone touch‑ups, and basic plumbing.
• Carry out patch and paint work to repair wall damage, scuffs, and general cosmetic wear.
• Maintain guest facilities and hotel equipment, including cleaning and servicing air‑conditioning filters.
• Support scheduled preventive‑maintenance tasks and keep external walkways safe and presentable.
• Liaise with management to return out‑of‑order rooms or areas to service quickly.
• Identify early maintenance issues and report larger repairs when required.

Required profile

• 1–2 years’ experience in a handyman, maintenance, or facilities role (hotel experience preferred but not mandatory).
• Practical problem‑solver who can work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining presentation standards.
• Good interpersonal skills and professionalism when working in guest areas.
