Guest Service Agent

About the role

We are looking for a friendly and energetic Guest Service Agent to be the first point of contact for guests at Ibis Adelaide. You will create a welcoming atmosphere, assist with check‑in and check‑out, and ensure every guest enjoys a memorable stay.

Key responsibilities

• Warmly greet guests and provide ongoing support to the reception team.
• Handle check‑in, check‑out, and in‑house enquiries with a professional telephone manner.
• Respond promptly to guest concerns, coordinate with housekeeping, food & beverage, maintenance and other departments.
• Process after‑hours reservations and manage switchboard communications.
• Provide local area knowledge and recommend attractions to enhance the guest experience.
• Multitask in a fast‑paced environment, anticipate needs and resolve issues on the spot.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic, people‑focused attitude with a “can‑do” spirit.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to think quickly under pressure.
• Full‑time availability and legal right to work in Australia.
• Previous experience in a front‑desk or reservations role is an advantage but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Opera Cloud or similar Property Management System.
• Experience using TARS Database or comparable PMS tools.
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, email, internet).
