Group Financial Accountant - First Move from Audit

About the role

A rare opportunity for someone making their first move from a chartered firm into an industry leader. The role runs the month-end close from start to finish, owns material journals and the balance sheet, and acts as the counterpart to the auditors. It covers inventory, fixed assets, provisions and intercompany, works closely with the finance controller and FP&A, and offers a strong platform with clear growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close and deliver accurate results on time
• Prepare, review and post complex journals including accruals, provisions and intercompany
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and keep controls tight
• Analyse results, explain variances and flag risks and opportunities to the finance controller
• Prepare monthly reporting and commentary that supports decision making
• Run year-end and act as the key contact for internal and external auditors
• Partner with FP&A on budgets, forecasts and performance reporting

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified
• Around 5 years' experience, built in a Big 4 or mid-tier audit or assurance firm
• Strong technical knowledge of AASB and IFRS
• Hands-on, accountable and keen to learn how a business really runs

Required skills

• Confident reviewing work and challenging existing processes
• Advanced Excel
• Comfortable working in ERP systems
