Group Business Manager - Finance & Insurance

About the role

Duttons, a family-owned business serving the Adelaide Hills and Murraylands communities for over 76 years, is hiring a Group Business Manager (Finance & Insurance) in Totness. The manager handles the financial and insurance parts of the vehicle sales process, giving customers a transparent, compliant and value-driven experience while maximising dealership profitability through product sales, lender relationships and efficient deal flow. The role works alongside the General Manager and Business Manager at each Duttons site.

Key responsibilities

• Present and explain finance and insurance products clearly and professionally, and guide customers through the contract-signing process
• Secure financing approvals through established lender relationships and structure deals to meet lender guidelines
• Achieve product penetration goals (warranty, insurance) and monitor funding timelines for fast, accurate deal completion
• Ensure deals comply with federal, state and dealership regulations, and complete contracts, disclosures and insurance forms accurately
• Adhere strictly to privacy, credit and anti-fraud policies
• Work with sales managers to support smooth deal transitions, introduce yourself early in the customer journey and keep workflows organised to reduce wait times
• Stay up to date with lender programs, rate changes and product updates, and help train sales staff on F&I processes

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Business Manager or F&I Manager in the automotive industry, looking for a more significant leadership role
• Proven experience in automotive F&I or a related finance/sales role
• Clear credit file and clear police record to represent the financier

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of finance contracts, lending practices and insurance products
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment
• Proficiency with dealership management systems (DMS) and digital contracting tools
• Preferred: F&I certification (AFIP, equivalent or dealership-specific), experience with multiple lender platforms, background in automotive sales or customer service, and knowledge of local/state regulatory requirements
