Group Accountant

About the role

Qscan is seeking an experienced Group Accountant to join its Finance team in Clayfield. This permanent full‑time position offers hybrid working flexibility and involves overseeing financial planning, reporting, tax compliance and budgeting for the group.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reporting for corporate entities, including balance sheet reconciliations and profit and loss statements.
• Analyse financial performance against budget and prior year results, identifying trends and insights.
• Produce monthly, half‑year and annual consolidated financial reports, including management accounts and statutory reporting.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger for corporate entities.
• Prepare weekly group cash‑flow reporting and support annual budgeting and capital expenditure reporting.
• Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and regulatory requirements.
• Support quarterly banking covenant compliance reporting and assist with audit requirements.
• Handle group taxation compliance, including income tax, FBT and GST, and assist with the annual group insurance renewal process.

Required profile

• CPA or CA qualified.
• Big 4 background with corporate finance experience.
• Multiple years of experience in Australian tax (tax return, FBT, GST).
• Strong time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Thorough understanding of Australian accounting and taxation systems.
• Knowledge of IFRS reporting standards.
