Graduate Software Engineer – Hybrid, Entry-Level

About the role

This part‑time Graduate Software Engineer position is based in Sydney, NSW, offering a hybrid work arrangement that blends on‑site collaboration with remote work. You will join a supportive, learning‑focused team and work closely with senior engineers to build and maintain back‑end web components and system integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, and testing software applications, with an emphasis on back‑end services.
• Write clean, maintainable code and participate in code reviews.
• Debug and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Contribute to documentation, technical specifications, and testing artifacts.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to implement new features and support existing systems.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in computer‑science principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Practical experience or coursework in software development using at least one modern language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, JavaScript).
• Understanding of back‑end web development, including APIs, databases, and server‑side frameworks.
• Knowledge of object‑oriented programming concepts.
• Ability to learn quickly, follow established development processes, and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
• Relevant degree (completed or near completion) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
