Graduate Mechanical Engineer

About the role

PROK Conveyor Components is seeking a motivated Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join its Applications Engineering team in Bayswater, WA. This full‑time permanent role offers a recent engineering graduate hands‑on experience across product design, estimating, manufacturing support and customer‑facing activities within the mining and materials handling sector.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for conveyor pulley, idler and aftermarket projects.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routings in ERP systems.
• Assist with product design, engineering calculations and drafting updates.
• Support equipment strip‑down, refurbishment and re‑assembly activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve product performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and sales teams to deliver customer‑focused solutions.
• Participate in customer discussions and provide technical recommendations as experience grows.

Required profile

• Recent degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals and problem‑solving abilities.
• Understanding of engineering standards, design principles and ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Eagerness to learn, contribute and grow within a dynamic engineering environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Ability to work with ERP systems for BOM and routing management.
• Competence in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
