Graduate Mechanical Engineer

About the role

MEPTEC Engineers is seeking a motivated Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join its Brisbane office in Underwood. You will work alongside experienced engineers on a variety of building services projects, gaining hands‑on experience from concept design through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with HVAC system design and documentation.
• Complete detailed engineering calculations for air‑side and water‑side systems.
• Perform calculations for air‑conditioning, ventilation and chilled water.
• Prepare AutoCAD and Revit drawings.
• Support equipment selection and technical assessments.
• Undertake site inspections and attend project meetings.
• Assist with commissioning and defect rectification activities.
• Coordinate with architects, builders, contractors and other consultants.
• Help prepare reports, specifications and tender documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (completed or near completion).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; exposure to Revit is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and teamwork abilities.
• Organised with strong attention to detail and a genuine interest in HVAC and building services engineering.
