Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a driven Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our skilled team at our Jandakot office. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to work on both on‑shore and off‑shore projects, creating innovative equipment and supporting customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual designs and complete design packages, including drawings, BOMs and documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, FEA, structural and hydraulic analyses, and risk assessments.
• Design test fixtures, handling aids and electro‑hydraulic control systems, and build specialised testing equipment.
• Prepare scopes of supply, cost estimates, project procedures and technical proposals.
• Collaborate with customers, project managers, engineers and technicians, providing status reports and supporting project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace Engineering.
• 1‑3 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines in high‑pressure environments.
• Experience or project work with ROV or subsea equipment design is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD packages.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience with FEA, structural calculations and hydraulic analysis.
• Familiarity with subsea ROV tooling and electro‑hydraulic control systems.
• Hands‑on mechanical experience building or repairing engines or machines.
