Graduate Junior Accountant

About the role

More Than Tax is a boutique cloud‑based accounting firm seeking an energetic graduate to join its Hawthorn East/Camberwell office. The role is fully on‑site and offers the chance to work with a diverse portfolio of SME clients across accounting, taxation and business advisory services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies and SMSFs.
• Prepare activity statements, FBT returns, TPAR, payroll tax reconciliations and other statutory filings.
• Assist with tax research, year‑end planning and advice for SME tax matters.
• Support clients with cloud‑based accounting software, bookkeeping queries and single‑touch payroll, superannuation and work‑cover matters.
• Liaise with clients, the ATO, other statutory bodies and outsourced personnel.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years experience in business services or taxation.
• Commenced CPA studies or fully qualified CPA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Self‑driven, results‑oriented and able to multitask in a team environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with Xero accounting software.
• Familiarity with BGL360 is highly regarded.
