Graduate Air Quality Consultant

About the role

Vipac Engineers & Scientists Ltd is recruiting a Graduate Air Quality Consultant for its Built Environment team. The position may be based in one of Vipac's offices in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney or Adelaide. The firm is a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy providing air quality, vibration and acoustics services to building, infrastructure, oil & gas, industrial, defence, mining and commercial clients.

The role suits recent Environmental or Mechanical Engineering and Science graduates, or candidates with 0 to 3 years' related experience. The Built Environment group focuses on ambient air quality monitoring and pollution dispersion modelling, using specialised hardware and software with a strong emphasis on data analysis and tools such as CALPUFF, GRAL and AERMOD.

Required profile

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in environmental or mechanical engineering or a similar science degree.
• Strong interest in air quality and odour monitoring and modelling assessments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with competent writing.
• Willingness to travel for field work.
• Team player who can also work independently when required.

Required skills

• Familiarity with air quality monitoring instrumentation and/or dispersion modelling tools.
• Knowledge of air quality modelling tools such as CALPUFF, GRAL and AERMOD.
