Grade 2 Occupational Therapist

About the role

Mercy Health's Occupational Therapy department at Werribee Mercy Hospital (WMH) is recruiting a Grade 2 Occupational Therapist. The hospital's OT teams of 31 clinicians provide client-centred services in the emergency department, short stay unit, acute and subacute wards, Hospital in the Home/Gem@Home, community programs and outpatient hand therapy, including inpatient rehabilitation through the Gem OT team. The role contributes to service development and leadership within the inpatient OT service, with supervision from a Grade 3 Senior clinician.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality, evidence-based, person-centred care to an allocated caseload as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to service development and leadership within the inpatient OT service.
• Work under supervision of a Grade 3 Senior clinician, with supervision opportunities built into the role.

Required profile

• A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current, full registration with AHPRAM.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience; acute and subacute care, and neurological/stroke care, are an advantage.
• Full driver's licence.
• Current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check, and proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccinations consistent with public health orders.
