Grade 1 Physiotherapist (Fixed Term)

About the role

Two full-time, fixed-term Grade 1 Physiotherapist positions are available in the Physiotherapy Department at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. The first position ends on 29 April 2027 and the second on 12 November 2027. Rotations are offered across the Fitzroy, Kew and Hawthorn campuses, covering musculoskeletal, neurosciences, cardiorespiratory, emergency, mental health and rehabilitation areas. Rotations occur roughly every four months and may span multiple campuses; weekend and public holiday roster participation is required.

Key responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and management to patients in allocated clinical areas
• Develop and implement treatment and management plans to support patient outcomes
• Work with multidisciplinary teams and attend team, family and departmental meetings as required
• Maintain clear clinical handovers with colleagues and other healthcare professionals
• Contribute to service improvement and departmental education, professional development and quality improvement activities

Required profile

• Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent recognised qualification
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRA
• Experience and/or demonstrated knowledge of physiotherapy management in a healthcare setting
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, with strong communication skills
