Geotechnical/Tailings Engineer

About the role

Tetra Tech Coffey is seeking a Geotechnical/Tailings Engineer to join its Perth office. You will work on a variety of geotechnical projects across mining, tailings storage facilities, and infrastructure, gaining hands‑on experience from site investigations to reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field investigations, including soil and rock logging, in‑situ testing and instrument monitoring.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and prepare reports for tailings storage facilities, mine site earthworks and slope stability projects.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and engage directly with clients and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
• At least 12 months experience with tailings storage facilities.
• Willingness to travel to remote mine sites and project locations.

Required skills

• Soil and rock logging.
• In‑situ testing and monitoring instruments.
