Geographic Information System Developer (ArcGIS)

About the role

HCLTech is looking for an experienced Spatial Software Engineer / GIS Developer for a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role suits someone with strong expertise in GIS technologies, web application development, cloud platforms and spatial data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and support enterprise-scale spatial and GIS applications.
• Build web-based and client-server applications using modern GIS and software engineering practices.
• Integrate geospatial solutions using ArcGIS technologies and spatial databases.
• Develop APIs, services and cloud-based solutions supporting business requirements.
• Work with business stakeholders, architects and cross-functional teams to deliver quality solutions.
• Take part in code reviews, testing, deployment and ongoing application support.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Computing, Information Technology, Spatial Technologies or equivalent industry experience.
• At least 5 years of commercial software engineering experience with spatial technologies.
• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript (ESRI JSAPI, OpenLayers, Leaflet, Mapbox, React), Java, Python, HTML/XML and ArcGIS Server.
• Extensive experience with PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server and SQL development.
• Knowledge of object-oriented design, service-oriented architecture and AWS Lambda.
• Proficiency with Git, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio Code, Jira and Confluence.
• Preferred: enterprise GIS platform experience, cloud-native architectures and microservices, and Agile delivery.
