General Sonographer – Part‑time – South East Melbourne

About the role
Scope Radiology is seeking an experienced General Sonographer to join its diagnostic imaging team across South East Melbourne. This part‑time role works 2–3 days per week on an agreed roster, offering flexibility while delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred ultrasound services.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of ultrasound examinations, including general, abdominal, obstetric, gynaecological, vascular and musculoskeletal imaging.
- Produce accurate, high‑quality diagnostic images and document relevant clinical information.
- Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring a professional, respectful and reassuring imaging experience.
- Maintain current clinical knowledge and follow approved imaging protocols, best‑practice techniques and safety standards.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, referring practitioners and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with quality‑assurance, health‑and‑safety and legislative requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Work across nominated Scope Radiology sites in South East Melbourne as required.
Required profile
- Current accreditation with the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- Recognised postgraduate qualification in medical ultrasound or an equivalent qualification accepted by ASAR.
- Minimum two years’ experience as a qualified sonographer.
- Demonstrated competency across a broad range of general ultrasound examinations.
- Strong technical skills and a commitment to producing accurate diagnostic imaging.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine commitment to outstanding patient care.
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to clinical excellence, quality assurance and continuous professional development.
