General Manager – Premium Hospitality Venue

About the role

The client operates a premium hospitality venue in Melbourne CBD and seeks an experienced, commercially driven General Manager to lead the venue, inspire the team and drive operational excellence, profitability and outstanding customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient service, high standards of food and beverage, cleanliness and guest experience.
• Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency, consistency and profitability.
• Manage rostering, staffing levels and labour costs in line with trading requirements.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety, liquor licensing and employment regulations.
• Take full responsibility for financial performance, including revenue, profitability, budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting.
• Drive sales growth through strategic initiatives, local marketing, promotions and guest engagement.
• Monitor and control labour, cost of goods sold, wastage and other operating expenses.
• Recruit, train, mentor and retain a high‑performing team, providing clear performance expectations and development pathways.

• Proven experience in senior hospitality management with strong commercial acumen.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop teams in a fast‑paced city venue.
• Solid financial and operational skills to drive profitability and growth.
