General Manager - Omni-channel Retailer

About the role

An Australian omni-channel retailer specialising in photographic equipment and accessories is looking for a commercially astute General Manager to lead its growth strategy. Based in Brisbane, the role is hands-on: you will drive industry innovation, source new suppliers, seek out new products and markets, and lead a diverse, cross-functional and established team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute and deliver the next phase of the retailer's growth strategy
• Drive industry innovation and source new suppliers
• Seek out new products and markets
• Manage a balanced team and a balance sheet, fostering a culture of continuous improvement
• Focus on profitable growth and improve business processes through Lean programs

Required profile

• 5-10 years' general management experience in a similar sector (electronic consumer goods, luxury brands, FMCG or a similar B2C offering)
• Demonstrable history of business development within a multi-channel business
• 5+ years managing a full P&L and balance sheet leading to EBIT growth in a retail brand (highly regarded)
• Senior merchandising experience with significant growth and profitability results
• Proven ability to deliver multi-channel growth and profitability
• Experience in a growing, privately owned business
• Tertiary qualification with a mix of sales, marketing and supplier management experience
