General Manager - Greensborough Sporting Globe

About the role

The Sporting Globe is opening its biggest venue yet in Greensborough, a multi-level sports bar with gaming, huge screens and big game days. The company is looking for a General Manager to lead the opening and ongoing operation from day one, building the leadership team, setting the culture and taking ownership of performance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the opening and ongoing operation of the venue
• Build, develop and lead a high-performing management and venue team
• Own venue performance across sales, labour, COGS and profitability
• Oversee the gaming operation while maintaining strong responsible gambling and compliance standards
• Set the standard for service, culture and operational excellence
• Drive game days, events and peak trading periods
• Maintain standards across liquor licensing, gaming, TAB, safety and venue compliance
• Coach and develop the leadership team and work closely with Operations and Support Office

Required profile

• Experienced General Manager or Venue Manager of a large, high-volume hospitality operation
• Strong gaming experience and understanding of a compliant, responsibly managed gaming operation
• Comfortable owning budgets, labour, COGS, sales and overall venue performance
• Hands-on but able to lead through managers; thrives in big, busy venues
• Strong experience across pubs, bars, restaurants, gaming or entertainment venues highly regarded

Required skills

• Knowledge of RSA, RSG and TAB is essential
• Understanding of responsible gambling and venue compliance
