Games and Puzzle Volunteer - Aged Care

About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing aged care services in Wahroonga, NSW, is recruiting volunteers for its Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which is funded by the Australian Government. As a Games and Puzzle Volunteer, you will spend time with older people living in residential aged care, offering companionship and meaningful engagement through shared games and puzzles.

Key responsibilities

• Sit with residents and enjoy completing puzzles together.
• Play simple card games, dominoes or Scrabble, depending on the abilities of the residents.
• Participate in indoor floor games such as bowling and balloon tennis.
• Visit regularly, helping to improve quality of life and reduce isolation.

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older.
• An NDIS Worker Screening Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
• Availability for a one-hour weekday visit between 9am-11:30am or 1pm-4pm, Monday to Friday; visits can be weekly or fortnightly depending on availability.
