Functional Lead - Travel Technology

About the role

Accenture is hiring a Functional Lead for a major travel retailing transformation program based in Sydney. This is a senior practitioner role embedded in the delivery team, acting as the main bridge between the client's business stakeholders, the OOSD platform vendor and the wider delivery team. The person owns the end-to-end functional workstream from requirements through to cutover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engagement with stakeholders across retailing, pricing, distribution, interline and customer operations to elicit, document and validate functional requirements.
• Translate business intent into detailed process designs and user stories for the delivery team and vendor.
• Work with the OOSD vendor on gap analysis, define options and trade-offs, and drive decisions to resolution.
• Plan and manage the functional cutover and transition, including parallel run sequencing, readiness checkpoints and the move to the new Offer and Order model.
• Own the functional part of the cutover plan and work with technical and testing teams.
• Produce and maintain business process designs, functional specifications, fit-gap registers and cutover run books.

Required profile

• Deep operations knowledge in fares and pricing, distribution and NDC, interline and codeshare, retailing and merchandising, or reservations and ticketing.
• Direct experience with PSS platforms and understanding of how legacy PSS functions map to modern Offer and Order constructs.
• Familiarity with IATA One Order and NDC standards at a working level.
• Experience producing requirements documentation, business process maps and fit-gap analysis; able to present and defend functional positions to stakeholders.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in relevant related skills; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
