Frontend / UX Developer – Build High‑Performance Interfaces

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Frontend / UX Developer to shape the user interfaces of complex software systems for an Australian technology company. Reporting to the Lead Software Engineer, you will own the visual and interactive experience for internal users and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build responsive, user‑friendly interfaces using modern frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Ensure accessibility, usability and performance across all shipped features.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to consume and help shape RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Translate wireframes, product requirements and UX research into clean, well‑tested frontend code.
• Write unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Profile and refactor code to improve load times and reduce technical debt.
• Maintain technical documentation, component libraries and UX patterns.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on frontend development experience with a strong UX focus.
• Proficiency in a modern frontend framework such as React or Vue.
• Solid understanding of accessibility and responsive design principles.
• Experience working with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong debugging skills and experience optimizing frontend performance.
• Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
