Front-End Engineer – React & Next.js (Hybrid, Melbourne)

About the role

We are adding a second front‑end engineer to our in‑house team, working alongside a senior front‑end developer on a high‑traffic consumer booking website. The role is hands‑on, delivering features from ticket to production with full ownership and support.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and ship responsive, performant web features using Next.js and React.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests, ensuring accessibility and performance standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, review code, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Work across server‑side and UI components, handling Node.js and TypeScript code.
• Utilise AI coding assistants and stay proactive in improving requirements.

Required profile

• Several years of experience building responsive web applications.
• Strong familiarity with Next.js, React, Node.js and TypeScript.
• Comfortable with both server‑side and UI component development.
• Commitment to testing, accessibility, performance and code quality.
• Experience with Git workflows, pull requests and CI/CD.
