Front-End Developer

About the role

This Front-End Developer position covers the full range of frontend development, from analysing business requirements and estimating tasks to coding, testing and maintaining applications. The role works closely with business users, analysts, solution architects and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse system requirements and impacts for new or enhanced applications and estimate development tasks
• Determine the best development approach, recommending reuse and modular design
• Work with business users, analysts and architects to understand project and maintenance needs
• Design and code quality programs of all complexity levels aligned with business requirements and solution architecture
• Write unit tests, support system testing and implementation, and provide emergency production support and maintenance
• Help keep programming standards up to date and contribute to task plans and estimates
• Recommend image scaling and tune the frontend codebase

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of application development experience
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, gained through 8 or more years of experience in a similar environment
• Proven track record integrating and developing distributed software, including cloud-based applications
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills, plus good verbal and written communication

Required skills

• HTML5, CSS3, LESS, RESTful services, AJAX and JavaScript (JQuery, Angular 1.x/2.x)
• Responsive web design, SEO and mobile web considerations
• Source control tools such as TFS, Git or Stash; build pipelines with Grunt, Gulp or TFS
• Handlebars templating and cross-browser compatibility
• Agile, Scrum and SOLID principles
