Front Desk Receptionist

About the role

We are a small boutique hostel in St Kilda seeking an ambitious, outgoing Front Desk Receptionist to manage daily operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact for international travellers, ensuring every stay exceeds expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate online reservations, update rates and availability, and respond promptly to guest inquiries and feedback.
• Oversee a high‑quality housekeeping service and coordinate routine maintenance projects.
• Drive accommodation bookings, optimise occupancy, and prepare future financial projections.
• Monitor sales performance, generate reports, and recommend strategies to increase revenue.
• Create engaging social‑media content to promote hostel events and local culture.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with a friendly, proactive attitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.

Required skills

• Experience using Beds24 for inventory, rate management and channel synchronization.
• Familiarity with online booking platforms such as Booking.com, Hostelworld and Expedia.
• Basic social‑media content creation and promotion.
