Founding Tax Accountant

About the role

Visory is looking for its first dedicated tax accountant to join the MindLedger product team. Working directly with the founders and the Product & Engineering squads, you will translate deep Australian tax and compliance knowledge into the rules and quality standards that power our AI‑driven tax agents.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to build and refine AI agents that handle end‑to‑end tax compliance.
• Review self‑improving edits generated by agents, confirming technical correctness and best‑practice alignment.
• Audit completed workpapers, trace data back to source, and decide if they are ready for client review.
• Diagnose and resolve failures in agent output, addressing instruction errors, data issues, or judgment gaps.
• Deliver tax services to Visory’s customers while continuously improving the product through each return prepared, reviewed, or corrected.
• Help define quality standards, professional processes, and the future structure of the accounting team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience with Australian tax law and compliance requirements.
• Proven ability to work hands‑on with product and engineering teams in a fast‑moving startup environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on quality and accuracy.
• Comfortable operating without a traditional timesheet, prioritising customer outcomes.
• Willingness to shape standards and processes as a founding member of the accounting function.
