Formwork Carpenter

About the role

KPI Labour Hire is recruiting skilled Formwork Carpenters for ongoing projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria. You will work with civil and infrastructure contractors on substations, terminal stations, data centres, bridges, pump stations and large-scale industrial projects, producing quality formwork while maintaining high standards of safety, workmanship and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Erect, set out and strip formwork in line with drawings and specifications, including walls, columns, slabs, decks, beams, footings and pits
• Assemble and fix formwork panels, metal props, soldiers, walers, brackets and clamps, and operate proprietary formwork systems
• Set out, level, plumb and square formwork before the pour, then support concrete pouring, screeding and finishing
• Strip, clean, repair and stack formwork for reuse; carry out steel fixing, conduit laying and pipe laying as needed
• Read and interpret drawings, plans and specifications, and complete work safely, on schedule and to a high standard
• Follow site safety procedures and work cooperatively with supervisors, operators and crews

Required profile

• Trade-qualified Carpenter or proven formwork experience
• At least 2 years' experience in formwork, carpentry or civil construction
• Current Construction Induction (White Card)
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Willingness to work across project sites in Victoria and to complete a medical and police check

Required skills

• Proven ability to assemble and fix formwork systems
• Proprietary formwork systems experience highly regarded; VESI training and plant equipment tickets are a plus
• Steel fixing, conduit laying or pipe laying background is a plus
• Previous work on substations, terminal stations or data centre projects is well regarded
