Forklift / Mobile Plant Operator

About the role

InfraBuild Recycling, a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and World Steel Association Sustainability Champion, is hiring a Forklift / Mobile Plant Operator for its InfraBuild Recycling Laverton site. You will join the metal recycling operations and work across a variety of yard and plant activities. This is a permanent day-shift position with regular overtime, plus site allowance, paid leave and an annual wellbeing allowance.

Key responsibilities

• Operate mobile plant such as forklift, material handler, excavator, loader or bobcat
• Load and unload trucks and shipping containers
• Load scrap metal onto conveyor for processing through the shredder
• Perform manual handling tasks
• Maintain cleanliness in the yard and operational areas
• Carry out daily checks on mobile plant
• Follow safety procedures at all times

Required profile

• Forklift ticket, essential
• Experience operating a material handler, excavator, loader or bobcat is desirable; competency-based training is provided
• Mobile shearing on an excavator is advantageous
• Experience in scrap recycling, civil construction, waste or manufacturing is highly advantageous
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment
• Reliable, punctual, safety-focused and team-oriented

• Pay of $44.81 per hour, plus super, plus 1% site allowance, plus a $300 wellbeing allowance per year, plus regular overtime
• Rotating fortnightly roster: 6am-2:30pm and 8am-4:30pm
