Food and Beverage Supervisor

About the role

Marriott Hotels Resorts is looking for a Food and Beverage Supervisor in Melbourne, Victoria. The role ensures that staff work as a team to deliver optimum service and meet guest needs, while also supporting management in hiring, training and scheduling.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure staff work as a team to provide optimum service and meet guest needs
• Inspect staff grooming and attire and correct any deficiencies
• Complete opening and closing duties, including setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and locking doors
• Inspect storage areas for organisation, FIFO use and cleanliness
• Complete scheduled inventories and stock and requisition supplies
• Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and guest well-being
• Complete work orders for maintenance repairs
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counselling, disciplining and coaching employees, and act as a role model and first point of contact for the Open Door Policy
• Follow company and safety/security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training and certifications
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality and protection of company assets
• Welcome guests, anticipate their needs, assist people with disabilities and thank them sincerely
• Develop positive working relationships, support team goals and suggest improvements to efficiency, quality, safety and cost savings

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• At least 2 years of related work experience
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience
• Able to stand, sit or walk for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, move through narrow or elevated spaces and read small print
