Fleet Controller – Autonomous Mining Operations

About the role

Thiess is seeking an experienced Fleet Controller to join the Olive Downs Complex, an autonomous mining project located near Moranbah, Australia. You will work on a 7/7 rotating day/night roster, reporting to the Control Supervisor, and play a key part in ensuring the efficient dispatch and monitoring of the mine’s equipment fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the mine’s fleet management system to dispatch mining equipment efficiently.
• Maintain smooth operation of multiple operating assets across the site.
• Utilise fleet monitoring systems and tools to ensure compliance with operational plans.
• Perform data entry, validation, and short‑interval controls.
• Manage plan deviations and support continuous improvement.
• Liaise with mining, maintenance, and other stakeholder teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience controlling large fleets in a mining environment.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic setting.
• Strong understanding of mining processes and systems.
• Commitment to meeting and exceeding production targets.
• Valid C‑class driving licence.
