Fixed Plant Control Room Operator

About the role

The Fixed Plant Control Room Operator will be based at Tanami Operations in the Northern Territory, working in a remote FIFO environment. From the control room you will monitor and coordinate the performance of fixed plant systems such as material handling, winders, de‑watering and ventilation to ensure safe, efficient and compliant production.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time asset performance and respond to equipment issues, delays or deviations, escalating as needed to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate operational records for shaft activities, delays and maintenance data for reporting and compliance.
• Act as the central communication link between surface and underground teams, ensuring clear and timely information flow.
• Support emergency response coordination from the control room following site protocols.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and planning teams to support scheduling, shift handovers and daily execution aligned to production targets.

Required profile

• Calm under pressure with clear communication across teams.
• Mechanical or electrical trade qualification (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in a mining control room environment, preferably with material handling systems and shaft operations.
• Underground mining experience is advantageous.

• Familiarity with ABB winders (advantageous)
