Fitter - Mobile Water Treatment Plant Service Centre Technician

About the role

Veolia Water Tech, part of the Veolia group, is hiring a Fitter for its Mobile Water (MW) Oceania team. The role covers maintenance of water treatment technologies and ancillary equipment such as portable containerised water treatment plants, pump skids, chemical dosing skids, multimedia filtration units, ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO) systems. It is based at the Northgate (Brisbane) service centre but involves travel to support mobile water treatment applications deployed around Oceania, including at remote mine sites.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect mobile assets on arrival at the Northgate Service Centre and perform approved design upgrades.
• Carry out prescribed maintenance, repair and quality inspection, including technical supervision of retrofits and validation of performance improvements.
• Review engineering documents to confirm their accuracy for each mobile asset.
• Source and manage critical spares inventory at Northgate for mobile assets.
• Maintain safe work practices, including safe work method statements, risk assessments, injury and incident reporting and WHS requirements.
• Keep the Northgate service centre well maintained.
• Perform field inspections such as preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, condition reporting and demobilisation.
• Service mobile assets at designated locations across Oceania and assist with commissioning and decommissioning.

Required profile

• A background in mechanical fitting, industrial plumbing or similar hands-on maintenance work.
• Preferably a tertiary qualification as a fitter by trade; other suitable experience will also be considered.
