First Aid Trainer and Assessor - Kalgoorlie
St John WA · Kalgoorlie
Job description
About the role
St John WA, a not-for-profit integrated healthcare provider serving Western Australia since 1922, is seeking an experienced Trainer and Assessor to deliver First Aid courses in the Kalgoorlie region. The role suits experienced trainers, teachers, emergency services professionals and industry practitioners who want to teach their community how to save lives. Full-time, part-time or casual positions are available.
Required profile
- Knowledge of first aid guidelines and regulations, including ANZCOR and ARC guidelines.
- Previous experience delivering First Aid training (highly desirable).
- Flexibility to work both weekdays and weekends.
- A current 'C' or 'CA' class driver's licence.
- Willingness to obtain a current HLTAID011 Provide First Aid card and a Working with Children Card if successful.
Required skills
- TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or a recognised equivalent.
- TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set, or a recognised equivalent.
- A recognised teaching qualification, together with experience delivering training, assessment or workplace learning.
- A Diploma or higher qualification in adult education, vocational education and training or a related field.
- An approved training and assessment credential currently in progress.
- Excellent communication, presentation, planning and problem-solving skills.
The updated requirements for nationally recognised training recognise a broader range of qualifications, so you may not need to hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; the pathway depends on your qualifications, experience and the RTO requirements. Support and professional development may be available for candidates working towards a recognised credential.
What we offer
- $550 health and wellness reimbursement.
- 17.5% leave loading.
- Corporate uniform, salary packaging and novated leasing.
- Consumer discounts and discounts on first aid equipment.
- Complimentary First Aid Training and ambulance cover.
To apply, use the online application form and submit an up-to-date CV, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Statement of Attainment, plus a cover letter. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
