Financial & Tax Accountant (Remote)

About the role

This is a work‑from‑home position supporting a modern accounting and consulting firm. You will work with a skilled executive team to deliver high‑quality financial and tax outcomes for a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and tax lodgements for businesses, individuals, companies, trusts and SMSFs.
• Perform accounts, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate compliance requirements, manage production schedules and meet BAS and tax deadlines.
• Produce financial reports, management accounting, annual budgets and support strategic consulting.
• Communicate proactively with clients and internal teams to ensure timely, high‑quality service delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in public or commercial practice.
• Degree‑qualified accountant with strong knowledge of Australian tax law and BAS compliance.
• Detail‑oriented, compliance‑driven and capable of process improvement.

Required skills

• Financial statement preparation and tax filing.
• Bank and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency with Xero, XPM and other cloud‑based accounting software.
• Advanced Excel skills.
