Financial Modelling Specialist - Senior Associate, Deals Advisory

About the role

PwC Australia is hiring a Senior Associate for its Deals Advisory Financial Modelling team in Melbourne. The team designs and reviews bespoke financial models, develops low-code analytics and provides model assurance and training for M&A, capital raises and CFO priorities, working with clients in private equity, infrastructure and corporate sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build automated data pipelines with Power Query/Power Pivot connecting financial models to data sources.
• Use Power BI to build interactive dashboards and visualisations.
• Lead the design and delivery of tailored financial models for M&A transactions, capital raises and CFO support.
• Provide model audits, assurance, data analytics and training.
• Manage project engagements, including risks, costs and schedules.
• Coach junior team members and liaise with clients and colleagues.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in business, economics, finance, STEM or a related discipline.
• Completed or pursuing CFA or CA, or a Master's in a relevant field.
• Ancillary financial modelling courses such as FMI are an advantage.
• Interest in commercial issues and a passion for problem-solving.

Required skills

• Proven experience with Power Query/Power Pivot for data transformation and integration into financial models.
• Proficiency in Power BI for dashboards and reporting.
• Strong financial modelling experience with large, complex datasets.
