Financial Controller

About the role

Join La Vie Hotels & Resorts as a Financial Controller and become the primary finance partner for a portfolio of city and regional hotels. You will work closely with the Group Director of Finance and hotel leadership teams to drive profitability and strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end close, financial reporting and balance‑sheet reconciliations across the hotel portfolio.
• Prepare monthly forecasts, annual budgets and business plans, and review hotel performance to identify variances.
• Partner with General Managers to improve profitability, payroll productivity and overall financial performance.
• Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure compliance with GST, BAS, PAYG, Capex and internal financial controls.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and hotel financial performance.
• Support the Group Director of Finance with portfolio reporting, analysis and strategic projects.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified (or close to finishing) with 3+ years of hospitality finance experience.
• Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise multiple deadlines and a sharp eye for detail.
• Confidence in building relationships with hotel teams and explaining financial data in plain English.
