About the role
This pivotal position works closely with the Managing Director and Board in a fast‑growing heavy equipment rental business. You will provide timely insight, turn numbers into practical decisions, and help shape the financial direction of the company.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver clear monthly and quarterly reporting, dashboards and forecasts.
- Provide practical variance analysis and financial insight.
- Improve cash flow forecasting and working‑capital discipline.
- Support board reporting and senior leadership decision‑making.
- Analyse performance, margins, pricing and commercial risk.
- Strengthen controls, systems, data integrity and finance processes.
Required profile
- Strong finance experience in a privately owned or owner‑led business.
- Confidence across reporting, forecasting, cash flow and month‑end processes.
- Commercial judgement around performance, margins and risk.
- Ability to engage with a range of stakeholders through clear financial insight.
- Initiative to improve systems and processes without over‑complicating them.
- Relationship‑led style suited to a small, close‑knit team.
