Financial Controller

About the role

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will lead the financial control function for a fast‑growing Australian services organisation. You will own financial reporting, month‑end close, treasury, compliance, audit, governance and statutory reporting while managing a small finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver accurate financial, statutory and board reports.
• Oversee month‑end close, treasury, compliance and audit processes.
• Lead and develop a small finance team.
• Improve financial processes, strengthen controls and drive automation.
• Implement technology and AI solutions to modernise the finance function.
• Partner with the CFO on budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting, commercial analysis and strategic initiatives, including M&A support.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with a strong technical accounting background.
• Experience in audit or commercial finance, preferably at a Financial Controller or Finance Manager level.
• Hands‑on attitude, process‑improvement mindset and ability to work with stakeholders.
• Experience in private‑equity‑backed or fast‑paced environments is advantageous.
• Interest in finance transformation, systems improvement and AI adoption.
