Financial Controller

About the role

This is an opportunity to join an established Australian‑owned FMCG business that is expanding domestically and internationally. Reporting to the CFO and sitting on the senior finance leadership team, you will own the financial control, reporting and governance environment while developing the finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
• Own statutory reporting, compliance, taxation and external audit requirements.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks and balance‑sheet integrity.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management and working‑capital reporting.
• Drive improvements across finance systems, reporting, processes and automation.
• Enhance the quality, accuracy and timeliness of management reporting.
• Partner with senior leaders and operational stakeholders to provide financial insight and decision support.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, improving capability and performance.
• Support the CFO on strategic projects, business‑improvement initiatives and broader organisational priorities.
• Help build the financial infrastructure needed for continued domestic and international growth.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with strong technical accounting foundations.
• Experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or comparable finance‑leadership role.
• Proven track record of strengthening financial controls and improving finance processes, systems and reporting.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership capability, with experience developing finance teams.
• Relevant experience in manufacturing, FMCG, retail or franchising.
