Financial Controller – Brisbane (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking a senior Finance professional to lead the finance function for the Australian subsidiary of a globally listed industrial group. Based in Brisbane with hybrid work and regular travel to Townsville, you will report directly to the APAC Regional CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and manage year‑end close with external accountants.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, three‑year forecasts and monthly Group reporting submissions.
• Run variance analysis and provide financial commentary to the Managing Director and Regional CFO.
• Oversee cash flow, banking relationships and working capital management.
• Coordinate the upcoming statutory audit and ensure Australian compliance.
• Drive the transition from Xero to a more robust ERP system as the business scales.
• Partner with operations on cost control, project financials and business planning.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in financial control, FP&A, audit or industry finance, preferably in a standalone or SME environment.
• CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent recognised in Australia).
• Strong experience preparing financial statements, managing audits and owning month‑end close.
• Based in Brisbane and comfortable with regular travel to Townsville.

Required skills

• Xero accounting software.
• Experience with ERP implementation or migration.

• Salary range AUD 100,000–130,000 base, dependent on experience.
